Professional Experience
David is a professor at Albany Law School in New York, teaching Introduction to Taxation, Elderlaw, Retirement Plans and Employee Benefits, Property and Negotiable Instruments. He has taught at Albany since 1994.
David is a frequent speaker at national employee benefits conferences on all areas of employee benefits law. He has also written numerous articles on employee benefits subjects for prominent national publications and is currently a Senior Editor for the Journal of Employee Benefits. He is the co-author of the Social Security and Medicare Answer Book (Aspen) and of Taxation of Distributions from Qualified Plans (Warren, Gorham & Lamont).
In 2001, David was elected as a fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel, the premier employee benefits organization in the U.S. dedicated to elevating and maintaining the standards of employee benefits law. David is a member of the Board of Directors in the American Society of Pension Professional and Actuaries (ASPPA); and formerly served on ASPPA's Government Affairs Committee as Co-chair of the Tax Exempt and Government Plans Subcommittee. He has also served as a director of the New York Employee Benefits Conference.
Education
David received his law degree from Oxford University, and was admitted to practice in England in 1975 and in New York in 1978.
