Areas of Practice Business Tax, Estate Planning & Probate Professional Experience Richard practices in the areas of tax, estate planning, probate, trust administration, and trust and estate litigation. He focuses his estate planning practice on assisting high net worth individuals and their businesses in estate, tax and succession planning to meet personal and family goals. He focuses his probate and trust administration practice on post-death tax, probate, and trust administration matters. He focuses his trust and estate litigation practice on representing fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and other interested parties in estate, trust, and conservatorship litigation matters. Richard also advises individuals concerning formation, compliance, and ongoing maintenance of tax-exempt entities. Richard also frequently works on tax controversy matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, California Franchise Tax Board, and California State Board of Equalization. He is admitted to practice in California and is a member of the Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and Los Angeles County Bar Associations. Education Richard received his J.D. in 2002 from Loyola Law School, where he was a member of the Saint Thomas More Law Honor Society. He was on the dean’s list throughout his four years at Loyola and was a recipient of the Faculty Honors Scholarship Award all four years. While at Loyola, Richard was also a research assistant for a tax professor and contributed to two published articles. He graduated from the University of Arizona in 1996 with a B.A. in Communication.
