Professional Experience
Stephanie focuses her practice on advising both private and public sector entities regarding a variety of matters related to employee benefits such as retirement plans (including pension plans, 403(b) plans, and 401(k) plans), nonqualified plans and executive compensation. Stephanie also has experience assisting clients on complying with their benefit-related fiduciary duties. She has prepared plan correction submissions and assisted in the negotiation of closing agreements with the Internal Revenue Service. In addition, she assists clients with inquiries conducted by the Department of Labor.
Stephanie is a member of the Labor and Employment Section as well as the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association. She also is a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).
Publications and Presentations
Stephanie has co-written numerous articles on employee benefits matters including the article "DOL Update: Changes to Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program Expands Relief Ability" published in the August 2006 issue of the California CPAs magazine.
Education
Stephanie received her J.D., with distinction, from The University of Iowa College of Law in 2004. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from The University of New Mexico in 1996.
